Contract win - Siemens

12 December 2016

Petards announces that it has been awarded a contract to supply Siemens Mobility Division with Petards eyeTrain systems.

The contract has been placed under the framework agreement which provides Petards the opportunity to supply Siemens' world-wide rail vehicle business with its train related products and services. This further order under the framework agreement is for Petards eyeTrain on-board digital CCTV systems that will be fitted to new Desiro City Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) trains being built by Siemens.

The equipment to be supplied provides the trains and their drivers with enhanced capability in the areas of security and surveillance through CCTV coverage, both internal and external, of saloon areas combined with pantograph, forward facing and track debris monitoring.

The order is worth approximately £2 million. Engineering activities will commence immediately with the first equipment deliveries to be made at the end of the first quarter 2017 and it is anticipated that the project will be completed during 2018.

Commenting, Petards Chairman Raschid Abdullah said;

“We are delighted that Petards has secured yet another key contract under the global framework agreement with Siemens. This provides us with yet another exciting rail project which further enhances our position in the rail industry and significantly strengthens the Group’s present order book for delivery in 2017 and 2018.”
