Petards Defence Services is an independent company with over 60 years' experience in the development of high quality, reliable and long-lasting defence technology, which fully complies with all required legislation and standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, PAS99 and DAOS and AAOS certification with the UK Military Aviation Authority (MAA).
We are members of the Weapons Science Technology Centre (WSTC) and have worked as an established Industry Partner to various NATO working groups. We also belong to the DSTL's R-Cloud and Government FATS 5 frameworks.
Our team consists of professionally accredited engineers, technical project managers and business support associates. We have a strong proportion of ex-Armed Forces staff, who we support via our Silver Armed Forces Covenant accreditation. Our main factory site is located in Gateshead, Tyne, & Wear, through which we support the UK Government’s levelling up agenda, encouraging the maintenance of skilled artisan jobs in traditional manufacturing areas, via the placement of apprenticeships and graduate schemes with hard working and talented local residents.
