Repair and Refurbishment
Having been a player in the defence market for almost 60 years, Petards Joyce-Loebl has a wealth of experience in supporting legacy platforms. Whether it be general repair or complete overhaul, we have helped to prolong the life of a number of platforms as well as making a number of overarching improvements to existing systems.
LRUs which have been repaired or refurbished by Petards Joyce-Loebl include:
- Drivers Instrument Panels
- Turret Power Distribution Unit
- VICS (Vehicle Integrated Control System)
- Hull Contactor Panels
- Power Distribution Boxes
Far from simply supporting legacy platforms, Petards Joyce-Loebl is accustomed to designing and manufacturing new-build electronic sub-systems for numerous platforms.
An example of such a build is the Vehicle Integrated Control System (VICS) - an engine and gearbox management system to replace the obsolescent unit installed on the Challenger 2, the Titan and the Trojan Engineering Vehicles.
In addition to VICS we are also developing a digital display for the vehicle's speedometer, a drivers audible warning device and have modified the Power Distribution Box to incorporate the Bowman Radio Interfaces.
